MANILA, Philippines—PLDT Home Fibr got back on the winning column after a 25-16, 25-23, 25-20 victory over winless Marinerang Pilipina in the Philippine Super Liga All-Filipino Conference Saturday at Filoil Flying V Center.

Grethcel Soltones led the Power Hitters to the winners’ table with 11 points, 19 digs, and 13 excellent receptions after they lost their previous match against defending champion Petron.

Aiko Urdas and Sasa Devanadera played support for PLDT Home Fibr with nine points apiece while setter Jasmine Nabor had 14 excellent sets and five points.

The Power Hitters improved to a 4-7 record to bolster their hold of the sixth seed and head coach Roger Gorayeb is already gearing up whoever ends up at the no.3 spot during the knockout quarterfinals.

“At least we got a win today, we’re just trying to get confidence from our remaining games,” said Gorayeb whose team will still face Cignal, Generika-Ayala, and F2 Logistics.

“We only have a slim chance to rise from no.6 so we just have to maintain it and get ready for the next round.”
