CAINTA, Rizal — King Limpo of TBAM-Prima lived up to his name when he topped the finals Saturday of the Mixed Classified division of the 5th Grand Mall Tenpin Bowling Club (GMTBC)-Yee Lu Fa National Heroes Open Championships at the Sta. Lucia Grand Mall Bowling Center in Cainta, Rizal.
Limpo carded a 10-game series of 2190 to thwart repeated attempts by Charles Calamba of Sletba-GMTBC to overtake him. Calamba finished with 2185, followed by Marc Custodio of TBAM-Prima with 2159.
Two other Sletba-GMTBC players, Peter Plaza and Jun de Guzman, comprised the winners’ circle with 2146 and 2143 total, respectively.
In the Mixed Youth class, Art Barrientos of TBAM-Prima won the finals with an eight-game series of 1785, followed by Patrick Nuqui of the Philippine Youth Team with 1740, and Ann Gronepillo of Sletba with 1737.
Dale Lazo of TBAM-Prima-RP (1735) and Marc Custodio of TBAM-Prima (1718) wound up the winners’ circle.
The tournament, which is sanctioned by the Philippine Bowling Federation, will hold the finals in the Mixed Open Masters category on Sunday (Aug. 11)./au
