Ramon Gonzales hopes to continue his winning ways when he tangles with China’s Hexigetu in ONE: Dreams of Gold Friday at Impact Arena in Bangkok.

Gonzales is currently on a roll having won his last three fights by submission and expect the rising Filipino strawweight to be at his best yet again in his return to the cage.

“With a few more days before the fight, I’m doing great. I never lost focus during training. I’m always excited and challenged because it’s another opportunity,” Gonzales said.

“I’m certainly ready for Friday. I’m ready to display more innovation and improvement from what I can do. Of course, there’s still my striking,” he added.

Gonzales knows that another victory would only propel himself up in the rankings in a loaded strawweight class but that doesn’t mean he’s already looking past his opponent.

“I know how dangerous of an opponent Hexigetu is, and I have no plans of being complacent against him,” Gonzales said. “I will be eager and more determined this coming Friday. This is for everyone who believes in me. My family, Kyokushin Team, sensei, senpai, and of course, my country, the Philippines.”

“I know a win here would put me in a better position in the rankings, but on top of that, my main goal for every match is to win and learn.”
