MANILA, Philippines—Gilas Pilipinas will be revealing its Final 12 for the 2019 Fiba World Cup after the tune-up games against Adelaide 36ers this weekend.

The final announcement of the line-up will come after the Nationals’ second match against the visiting 36ers on Sunday, which will help the coaching staff finalize their decision.

“Up to now, myself and the coaching staff are still having a hard time on the final 12,” said head coach Yeng Guiao during Gilas’ sendoff on Wednesday.

Gilas is in the home stretch of its preparation for the World Cup, where it will face Italy (August 31), Serbia (September 2 and Angola (September 4) in the group stage.

Despite the tall odds, Guiao is confident Gilas Pilipinas will come out fighting.

We will go to China knowing that we will give our best and we have prepared the best way we know and we will represent the Philippines the best way we can.”
