MANILA, Philippines—To encourage attendance from students, the UAAP is lowering ticket prices for the men’s and women’s basketball tournaments for “Student Wednesdays” this  Season 82, which opens Sunday.

Every Wednesday in the elimination round, tickets for the upper box and general admission areas for both Smart Araneta Coliseum and Mall of Asia Arena will now just cost P35.

“We want to encourage more students to watch. With social media, the games are easily accessible but nothing beats watching the games live,” said UAAP President Em Fernandez of host Ateneo.

“We want to push Wednesdays, of course class schedule permitting, so we deceided to have Student Wednesdays where they only have to pay the cost of printing a ticket to get into the playing venues.”

FEATURED STORIES

Of the three UAAP gamedays in a week, Wednesday is the only day that will feature three men’s matches.

In the season opener on September 4, University of Santo Tomas takes on University of the East at 10:30 am while Far Eastern University faces University of the Philippines in the second game.
