League owner saddened as Chooks to Go players left off SEA Games 3×3 roster
MANILA, Philippines—Chooks to Go Pilipinas 3X3 league owner Ronald Mascariñas was saddened by Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas’ decision to field an all-PBA team for 3X3 event in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games instead of players who have already been playing in the circuit.
Mascariñas said he was disappointed with the Philippine team selection that left out players from Chooks-to-Go’s 3×3 dedicated leagues who have greatly helped expand the sport in the Philippines.
“Personally, I’m sad for the players because I know they were expecting to represent the country and they’ve sacrificed a lot for this sport. It’s their pride and honor to serve their country,” said Mascariñas.

The top teams in the league have also represented the Philippines in international competitions including tournaments in Russia, China, and France.
Mascariñas, though, remained focused on their ultimate goal of helping the country qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
