PVL: BanKo rolls past Chef’s Classic, BaliPure stuns Air Force
MANILA, Philippines — BanKo Perlas pounded out an easy 25-7, 25-16, 25-17 win over eliminated Chef’s Classics Sunday night to firm up its Final Four chances in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at Filoil Flying V Center.
It was a big follow up to BanKo’s straight sets victory over Motolite last week and pushed the Perlas Spikers to their eighth win in 13 games.
The Red Spikers dropped to their 15th defeat in as many matches.
Earlier, BaliPure resuscitated its semifinals campaign after shocking Air Force, 25-23, 12-25, 27-29, 25-23, 15-11.
Grazielle Bombita unloaded 26 points to lead the Water Defenders in the thrilling victioy, their fourth against 10 losses.
“I’m proud of our players.,” said BaliPure coach Rommerl Abella. “Despite falling 1-2 set behind, they hung tough and held on in the fourth thenthey came up with a solid start in the decider.”
Air Force stayed at sixth at 5-7 but remained in the hunt for a semis spot.
