Louie Vigil joins Alab Pilipinas on loan from San Miguel

MANILA, Philippines—San Miguel Beer guard Louie Vigil is the latest new face to parade his wares at Alab Pilipinas in the coming 10th Season of the Asean Basketball League, the team announced on Instagram Wednesday.

The 6-foot-3 Vigil, who is hardly used as a member of the stacked Beermen in the PBA, is just on loan to bolster Alab’s new-look roster, according to Alab team owner Charlie Dy.

Vigil isn’t the only PBA cager to join Alab’s bid in reclaiming the title.

Former pro Aaron Aban also came out of retirement to give the squad a shot in the arm.

Aban, known for his defense, toughness and outside shooting, won six championships as a member of TNT.

So far, Alab has officially named eight players on its lineup led by returning reinforcement Renaldo Balkman.

Teaming up with Balkman are former NLEX import Adrian Forbes, crack Fil-American point guard Jason Brickman and versatile wing Jeremiah Gray.

Also returning for another season are Brandon Rosser and Lawrence Domingo.

Alab, which is coming off a disappointing stint last season, opens its campaign against the Mono Vampire on November 17.
