PBA: Rain or Shine turns back Blackwater to end slide
MANILA, Philippines–Rain or Shine went on a strong endgame run to repulse Blackwater, 99-82, Wednesday night in the PBA Governors’ Cup at Cuneta Astrodome.
Up three, 87-84, against an opponent that muffed several attempts to inch closer, Rain or Shine kicked off a strong finishing run triggered by a desperation triple from Kwame Alexander to hike its record to 2-5, dragging the Elite to the same card.
Article continues after this advertisementAlexander, who seemed to hobble his way through the game, knocked in a tough challenged triple that lit the wick of a 15-1 run to end the game.
“We managed to hit some shots, although some were lucky shots,” said Rain or Shine coach Caloy Garcia.
Alexander finished with 17 points and 16 rebounds for Rain or Shine, which ended a four-game losing slide.
