Duterte arrives for SEA Games opening rites
BOCAUE — President Rodrigo Duterte has arrived at Philippine Arena for the opening ceremony of the 30th Southeast Asian Games Saturday night here.
Duterte, aboard a helicopter, arrived around 6:30 p.m. at the venue, which is considered to be the largest indoor sports arena in the world.
Before heading to Philippine Arena, Duterte went to the wreath-laying ceremony at Bonifacio Monument Circle in Caloocan, Manila to commemorate national hero Andres Bonifacio’s 156th birth anniversary.
Duterte will declare the biennial meet open as the SEA Games go full blast.
