SEA Games: Dominant Gilas sweeps 3×3 prelims
MANILA, Philippines — Gilas Pilipinas Men remained untouchable after a 21-6 whipping of Cambodia in 3×3 basketball event of the 30th Southeast Asian Games Monday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
The Philippines completed a six-game sweep of the preliminary round.
Gilas faced little resistance against the overmatched Cambodians, who couldn’t offer anything on the defensive end to slow down the Philippines’ offensive onslaught.
Jason Perkins set the tone for the Nationals. His one of many inside baskets put Gilas ahead by 10, 14-4, with 6:30 left.
The top-seeded Filipinos, who will face the No. 4 team in the semifinals later in the day, walloped Malaysia, 21-13, earlier.
