MANILA, Philippines — Carlos Yulo was hoping to sweep his seven artistic gymnastics events in the 30th Southeast Asian Games.
Yulo was on track until the third in the Pommel Horse where he settled for the silver medal.
He appeared to have regained his golden form in the Still Rings but only to come up short again for another silver to go with the two gold medals he won when he ruled the All-Around final last Sunday and Floor Exercise on Tuesday.

Any other athlete would have been in overly high spirits having a medal collection like Yulo’s current haul.
But fully aware of what he’s capable of as a world champion gymnast, Yulo knew he could’ve done better.
“Not satisfied,” the 4-foot-11 dynamo said.
“I did better during my trainings than what I showed during the competitions,” he added in Filipino. “But I’m happy because I never really had any expectations.”

His four-medal count is just the beginning.
The 19-year-old Yulo, who put Philippine gymnastics on the map after a historic performance in the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships two months ago in Germany, can still salvage three more gold medals when he competes in Vault, Parallel Bars and Horizontal bar on Wednesday.
Yulo is once again tipped to rule his last three events before he shifts his focus on the ultimate prize which is to deliver an Olympic gold in Tokyo, Japan seven months from now.
