MANILA, Philippines – Phil Younghusband and Angel Guirado provided the goals as the Philippines moved on to the semifinals for the first time in the AFC Challenge Cup after beating Tajikistan, 2-1, at the Halchowk Stadium in Nepal.
Younghusband struck a goal in the 53rd minute while Guirado scored on a diving header in the 80th that sealed the win.
The Philippine Azkals take on Turkmenistan in the semis set on Friday.
