MANILA, Philippines—Samuel Morrison completed a personal three-peat after his gold medal victory over Joshua Abdullah, 30-8, in the men’s under-80 kilograms taekwondo finals of the 2019 Southeast Asian Games Sunday at Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Morrison, who won in the 2015 and 2017 SEA Games, started off cautiously taking an 8-5 lead early in the second round.
What Abdullah didn’t know was Morrison was just heating up as the lanky Filipino jin unleashed a barrage of strikes that put the Malaysian on a world of hurt.
Morrison landed three straight head kicks for a 20-8 lead midway through the second round.
