SEA Games: PH karate picks up more medals

The Philippines tabbed medals across the kumite and kata events in the continuation of the Southeast Asian Games karatedo competition Sunday at World Trade Center in Pasay.

Nicole Dantes, Rebecca Torres, and Ronaldene Flores salvaged a bronze medal in female team kata, which was topped by Vietnam and Malaysia, respectively.

Highly-touted Filipino-American Joane Orbon also settled for a bronze in the -61kg female kumite.

FEATURED STORIES

Jayson Macaalay and Mae Soriano also added to the tally, tossing in bronzes from the -60kg male and -55kg female kumite.

The Nationals’ lone gold thus far is from Junna Tsukii, who reigned supreme in the female -50kg kumite on Saturday.
