MANILA, Philippines–Raymond Almazan’s status for the PBA Governors’ Cup championship series remains in limbo.

Meralco team manager Paolo Trillo told the Inquirer in a text message Tuesday that the Bolts big man has been diagnosed with a lateral meniscal tear in the left knee.

“We will still talk [to him] and then assess,” said Trillo when asked on whether Almazan will be shut down for recovery.

The MRI results were made official by Makati Medical the same morning.

Meralco coach Norman Black has stayed positive throughout the ordeal but feels the left knee injury, which Almazan sustained on Sunday night’s Game 3, would be hard to recover from right away.

“[I]t is not something you can just bounce back from that easily.”
