Perpetual Help battled toe-to-toe with Lyceum before pounding out a 25-27, 25-23, 26-24, 14-25, 17-15 win on Tuesday in the 95th NCAA women’s volleyball tournament at Filoil Flying V Centre.

Jhona Rosal came through with 20 points, including three service aces, for the Lady Altas, who needed two hours and 11 minutes to post their second straight victory.

Shyra Umandal contributed three of the Lady Altas’ 14 blocks.

“We found our groove a bit, but we need to be more consistent. Anyway, there’s still a long way to go in the league and our next opponent is Mapua. We have three days to prepare for that,” Cariño said.

The Lady Pirates fell to 0-3.

It was another heartbreaking five-setter loss for Lyceum, which could not find that extra push to get the job done.

Alexandra Rafael, Ciamelle Wanta and Joy Onofre each scored 15 points while Jacquiline Acuña had five blocks for an 11-point outing for the Lady Pirates.

Later, Cesca Racraquin scattered 19 points while Nieza Viray added 14 points as San Beda joined defending champion Arellano University at 2-0 following a quick 25-13, 25-9, 25-21 win over San Sebastian.
