MANILA, Philippines–Alex Eala continues her rise as one of the best junior tennis players in the world.

In the latest ITF World Tennis Tour Junior rankings, the Filipino teen star has climbed four spots to No. 4 among girls.

The 14-year-old Eala recently won the title in the 2020 Australian Open girls doubles with Indonesian partner Priska Nugroho.

Eala, who made the third round of the girls singles in Melbourne, became the first Filipino to win a Grand Slam event since 2009 when Francis Alcantara and Hsieh Chen-peng of Chinese Taipei ruled the Australian Open boys doubles.

Eala’s impressive stint validates her status as one of Rafael Nadal Academy’s promising scholars.

Diane Parry of France kept her standing as the No. 1 junior girls player in the world.
