Javi Gomez De Liaño vows to return to UP

MANILA, Philippines—Javi Gomez de Liaño vowed to come back to University of the Philippines after he begged off from varsity duties for the next UAAP season.
Gomez de Liaño was named part of the pool for the Fiba Asia Cup 2021 qualifiers and he decided to focus full time with Gilas Pilipinas instead of suiting up for the Fighting Maroons.

“To the UP community, this is not goodbye, babalikan ko kayo,” said Gomez de Liaño. “Thanks for understanding.”

Gomez de Liaño still has one more year left in his collegiate ability and he can exhaust that for Season 83.
His younger brother Juan was also chosen to be part of the national team pool and he too begged off from playing for UP in Season 83.
