MANILA, Philippines — The Ray Parks Jr. contract stalemate with TNT KaTropa has finally reached an end.
TNT on Monday signed the second overall pick of the 2018 PBA Rookie Draft to a one-year deal.
“I’m just thrilled that he’s signed. It’s great news for us,” TNT active consultant Mark Dickel told reporters on Monday night.
“It’s great to have the whole team in practice,” added Dickel, who, in a previous interview rued the guard’s absence, which has affected the team’s chemistry.
The 26-year-old Parks, however, has been ruled out for national team duty.
“As far as Gilas goes, though [is another thing]. These guys are all nine, 10 days in,” said Dickel, who will call the shots for the Nationals as interim coach in the first window of the Fiba Asia Cup qualifiers next week.
“Maybe, we’re thinking next window for him.”
