Some national sports associations just can’t afford to see their athletes go into a long stretch of idleness, that’s why the Triathlon Association of the Philippines (TRAP) came up with a sustainable training program for national triathletes while staying indoors to prevent getting infected by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

While Olympic hopefuls Kim Mangrobang and Kim Kilgroe are waiting to resume their respective training camps overseas, national triathletes in the country have been religiously following a regimen to keep them in great shape despite the prolonged Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine.

“The locally based national athletes are under the supervision of their assigned local coaches and are doing mainly indoor training using stationary bikes, treadmill for running and lots of calisthenics,’’ TRAP president Tom Carrasco said.

“From time to time, they do joint indoor workouts via teleconference facilities,” Carrasco added.
