MANILA, Philippines — After auctioning off his jersey, Barangay Ginebra star LA Tenorio has also auctioned off a pair of shoes that will help indigent families and frontliners during the coronavirus disease pandemic.
Tenorio, one of the best point guards in the country, donated his custom Air Force 1 sneakers as part of the Off-Court Action: Auction For A Cause, a campaign led by PBA standout Paul Lee and his talent manager Stanley Santos.
The pair, which has a starting bid of P10,000 is inspired by Marvel superhero Iron Man, which is also one of Tenorio’s nicknames due to his durability.
The 35-year-old Tenorio holds the PBA record for most consecutive games played. He broke the mark previously set by Purefoods legend Alvin Patrimonio last year.
The bidding for the sneakers began last Tuesday and will end on April 28.
Aside from Tenorio and Lee, national team mainstays Troy Rosario and Kiefer Ravena, Ginebra’s Scottie Thompson and recently-retired Ranidel De Ocampo among others have also joined the campaign by auctioning off their jerseys.
