MANILA, Philippines — With school out and the UAAP season canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, Nazareth School of National University’s Kevin Quiambao isn’t just going to sit and do nothing.
Instead, Quiambao decided to help the military and community personnel, who have been making sure their barangay in Bayanan, Muntinlupa will be safe from the virus.
The 6-foot-8 Quiambao, who’s part of the UAAP Season 82 boys’ basketball Mythical Team, together with his friends and family distributed 150 packed meals.
“We decided to help out so we can give them any assistance and support in any way we can,” said Quiambao, a member of the national 3×3 basketball youth team, in Filipino.
“It’s also a way to show them that we appreciate the sacrifices of these frontliners.”
The 19-year-old Quiambao knows that every little help counts especially during a crisis, and distributing food is his own way of contributing to their community.
“It’s a great feeling that you can do your part for the Philippines because Lord made me one of His instruments to give out help in any form,” said Quiambao.
