MANILA, Philippines—TNT Consultant Tab Baldwin has been fired from his post, sources said on Thursday.

Baldwin had been with the KaTropa since the 2013-14 season, serving as an assistant coach and consultant.

The firing came weeks after Baldwin stirred headlines with his comments about the PBA, criticizing the league’s import policy and saying that coaches are “immature” in terms of schemes and tactics.

Baldwin also said that referees and officials give imports “rules latitudes.”

The comments earned Baldwin a P75,000 fine from the PBA and a three-game suspension once the league resumes after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Baldwin is still tasked to oversee the preparation of Gilas Pilipinas for the 2023 Fiba World Cup. He also remains the head coach of Ateneo.
