Memphis Grizzlies forward Jaren Jackson Jr. has been ruled out of the remainder of the NBA season after suffering a knee injury, the team said Tuesday.

A statement from the Grizzlies said Jackson suffered a torn meniscus in his left knee after landing awkwardly during Monday’s game with the Pelicans.

The Grizzlies said Jackson was expected to make a full recovery.

The 20-year-old scored 22 points during Monday’s 109-99 loss to the Pelicans.

Jackson had emerged as a key figure in the Grizzlies push for a playoff berth after a dazzling second NBA season.

He had averaged 17.5 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.6 blocks during the campaign, and had scored an average of 25.3 points per game since the NBA season relaunched in Orlando last week.

The Grizzlies are currently occupying the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference standings but have suffered three straight defeats in Orlando.
