MANILA, Philippines—It’s been 10 years since Allan Caidic left a mark in the mind of NBA champion Glen Rice.

During the 2010 NBA Asia Challenge, The Triggerman erupted for 54 points on the back of 14 three-pointers, leaving  Rice—a great shooter himself—in awe.

“You know Trigger, that’s my man,” said Rice in a Zoom press conference Thursday for the NBA Republika Playoffs. “I tell you when he had the opportunity to play with the NBA players, he showed that he’s definitely a top notch shooter.”

“At his age, he put on a show when it comes to shooting,” added Rice who played with Caidic when the latter was 47-years-old.

Rice said that given Caidic’s talents, it’s not a far-fetched statement that the Triggerman is “up there” with some of the NBA’s greatest shooters.

“If I can see him play at his prime then he’s up there with the top shooters. When you talk about the Larry Birds, Glen Rices, Steph Currys, he’ll be comfortable up there,” said Rice.

So much was Rice’s adoration for Caidic that when he returned to the Philippines in 2017 for another NBA event, the first thing he wanted to do was reunite with the PBA legend.
