“Ang daming kumukuha sa amin pero may big problem ako sa PBA at ‘di rin ako makakaalis basta basta,” said Abueva in an appearance at Sports Page.

(There are a lot of teams wanting to sign me but I have a big problem here with the PBA and I can’t just leave easily.)

Abueva is still under contract with Phoenix and he’s taking care of his restaurant, Dampa ni The Beast, while he’s serving his suspension.

Moreover, Abueva would want to once again suit up for the national team after two years of being left out of the squad.

There’s also the issue of raising five boys whom he wants to follow in his footsteps of becoming a basketball player.

“Gustung gusto ko talaga makabalik at makalaro sa Philippine team,” said Abueva. “Siyempre ang mga anak ko limang lalaki at gusto ko silang sumunod sa yapak ko sa paglalaro.”
