MANILA, Philippines — Expanding its reach to aspiring women’s basketball players in the country, the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) has started taking applicants for its upcoming draft, the league announced Saturday.

The WNBL is looking to hold its inaugural draft in October.

The league recently gained professional status from the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) and have slowly made steps to be recognized more.

It also appointed Bea Daez, a former national team player and basketball analyst, as its ambassador.

Players aged 21-40 can send their applications to [email protected]. The application form for its rookie selection is posted on its Facebook account at NBL-Pilipinas.
