MANILA, Philippines—NLEX guard Kevin Alas, son of coach Louie Alas, sounded off on the sudden firing of his father as the head coach of Phoenix.

In the since deleted Facebook post, the younger Alas also accused the Super LPG Fuelmasters of leaving their suspended player Calvin Abueva on his own while not re-signing some of their players this season.

He added that a PBA club won’t be able to win anything in the league if it doesn’t treat its players and staff properly.

“You did not defend your suspended player, then you do not renew several of your players this year,” wrote Alas on Facebook Friday. “Some just can’t speak up because of course they’re thinking of their families.”

“I understand that this is a business but man, don’t expect to win if that’s how you treat your employees—as if they’re disposable.”

The older Alas was serving his 15-day suspension for breaking health protocols during practice when he was unceremoniously fired from the team.

Topex Robinson, the top assistant, was elevated to head coach on an interim basis.

“Really blessed that I play under an organization that treats me with love and respect,” said Alas of the Road Warriors.
