TNT back on track with rout of NorthPort
MANILA, Philippines — TNT vented its ire on a listless NorthPort side, 112-87, to get back on track in the PBA Philippine Cup Tuesday at AUF Sports Arena in Angeles, Pampanga.
Five days after suffering their first loss of the season, the Tropang Giga rebounded with a masterful win in a game they never trailed from start to finish.
Article continues after this advertisementRay Parks helped set the tone for TNT, which took control early, outscoring NorthPort, 30-13, in the opening period.
Parks scored 18 of his 22 points from long distance while also grabbing 10 rebounds with two steals to boot.
“Today, it’s just a great response by the team coming off that tough loss,” Parks said. “It’s just the testament of the character of this team.”
Article continues after this advertisementTNT upped its mark to 6-1, bouncing back from a 109-98 loss to NLEX last Thursday.
Roger Pogoy added 15 points and five assists while Troy Rosario also tallied a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Tropang Giga, who led by as many as 36 points.
Christian Standhardinger had 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Batang Pier, who slipped to 1-5.
