MANILA, Philippines — Barangay Ginebra guard LA Tenorio was named Finals MVP after the Gin Kings closed out the TNT Tropang Giga in five games in the PBA Philippine Cup Finals.

The 36-year-old had 10 points and six assists in the title-clincher and hit two free throws with 7.6 left to seal the 82-78 win on Wednesday.

“All I asked from God was an all-Filipino championship but I even got a bonus,” Tenorio said after helping the Gin Kings claim their first PH Cup title in 13 years.

Tenorio averaged 13.6 points and 6.2 assists in the finals.

“We been through so much here in the bubble,” he said.

The former national team mainstay underwent an appendectomy three weeks before the Philippine Cup resumed.

Tenorio won his sixth PBA crown and fourth Finals MVP plum.
