MANILA, Philippines—Gab Banal is back in the PBA after signing a deal with Alaska.
Both Aces head coach Jeffrey Cariaso and Banal himself announced the news on their social media accounts.
“Your time of waiting will turn into a testimony, and all who witness your deliverance will come to fear and trust in the Lord. When you wait patiently on the Lord, you will be blessed and your heart will be strengthened. Your patient waiting shows God that you trust Him with your whole life, and He rewards faith like that in big ways,” posted Banal on his Instagram account.
“Welcome to Alaska Gab Banal,” posted Cariaso on his Twitter page.

Banal was the 22nd overall pick of the 2014 Draft going to San Miguel but played sparingly during his time in the league. He also had a stint with Globalport (now NorthPort) in 2017.
He made his name outside of the PBA playing in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League, PBA D-League, and Pilipinas Chooks to Go 3×3.
The versatile forward was the MVP of the MPBL’s Rajah Cup in 2020 and was a Finals MVP for Go for Gold.
