BORACAY—Multi-titled Triton Racing Dragon Boat Team again proved its worth by ruling the 2,000-meter women’s and mixed events in the Cobra PDBF International Club Crew Challenge that finally got going Friday in front of Paradise Island resort near Station 3 here.
Cheered on by a horde of sun-tanned spectators, the Triton mixed team clocked 10 minutes and 13.01 seconds to beat the De La Salle Boat Team (10:17.43) and Onslaught Racing Dragons (10:44.63) which placed second and third, respectively.
Sydney Fire Dragons, which came here with a 36-man team, wound up fourth in 10:45.72.
The Triton women’s team rallied in the final 50 meters to nip the Sydney Fire Dragon. Triton clocked 10:24.49, less than a boat-length ahead of the Sydney paddlers, who finished in 10:28.29.
Local club American Tourister-Gaud Boracay Team took the gold in the Open 2,000m with a clocking of 9:31.28, well ahead of Sydney (9:54.93), Onslaught Racing (10:01.18), Triton (10:12.67), Maharlika (10:47.11) and Bugsay Boracay (11:15.59).
