MANILA, Philippines — PBA commissioner Willie Marcial said the league is aiming to stage its 46th season back in Metro Manila.
Among the venues being considered by the PBA is Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City and Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay.
“It could be Araneta, could be Cuneta. What we requested is for us to be able to play at NCR,” Marcial said in Filipino during a press conference Tuesday.
“I hope the Task Force will oblige our request. But we’re still negotiating the possible venues,” he added.
Last year, the PBA held its lone conference—the Philippine Cup—inside a bubble in Clark, Pampanga.
Pending approval from the Inter-Agency Task Force, the PBA is set to open its new season on April 11 with a “closed-circuit” setup eyed.
“So let’s see. But we really requested NCR because we’re going to have a hard time outside of it.”
