MANILA, Philippines—Another opportunity has opened up for Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser after missing out in the 2021 PBA Draft.
Ganuelas-Rosser was supposed to be part of the rookie selection but he couldn’t complete the necessary documents needed for Filipino-foreign players to be eligible for the draft.
Instead of lounging around, Ganuelas-Rosser signed with Phoenix to be part of the franchise’s 3×3 roster as per PBA.ph.
Ganuelas-Rosser, whose older brother Matt plays for Terrafirma, is the third Filipino-foreign player to sign a 3×3 contract with former Alab Pilipinas teammates Jason Brickman and Jeremiah Gray joining Meralco and TNT, respectively.
The three played under head coach Jimmy Alapag in the ASEAN Basketball League.
As per existing PBA eligibility rules, Filipino-foreign players need to secure the proper documents from the Bureau of Immigration and Department of Justice to be allowed to join the league.
The 3×3 tournament has a more relaxed ruling with a valid Philippine passport proving enough for Filipino-foreign players to join.
