Commissioner Ramon Fernandez of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) is keeping mum on libel charges filed against him, saying he was still waiting for legal advice.
“Let’s just wait; my lawyer is checking [the] veracity [of the charges],” the four-time Philippine Basketball Association Most Valuable Player told the Inquirer on Friday.
PSC chair Butch Ramirez and executive director Guillermo Iroy also begged off from commenting on a warrant of arrest signed by Judge Myra Quiambao.
The charges were filed by Philippine Squash Academy president Robert Bachmann.
Fernandez is currently ramping up plans to resume training for Southeast Asian Games-bound athletes.
