De Los Santos plucks another gold with close win
MANILA, Philippines—James De Los Santos has made it a dozen.
The world’s no.1 eKATA karateka scored a narrow victory over world no.2 Matias Moreno Domont of Switzerland, 25-24.5, in the finals of the Kamikaze Karate E-Tournament.
Article continues after this advertisementDe Los Santos’ victory netted him his 12th gold medal of the year and the 48th of his eKATA career that he started in mid-2020.
Fatima A-Isha Lim Hamsain, De Los Santos’ student at Maharlika Karatedo Kai of the Philippines International, also won her fair share of gold in the tournament’s under-18 and under-16 divisions.
Hamsain beat Elisa Dominijanni in both finals, 24.8-23.6 in the U16 and 24.7-23.8 in the U18.
