MANILA, Philippines — The Premier Volleyball League will have to wait longer before it finally gets to launch its first professional season.

The PVL is pushing back its supposed May opening to a later date due to the extended enhanced community quarantine in the National Capital Region Plus as COVID-19 infections continue to rise in the country.

The league had originally planned to get things going this month before moving it to May.

Palou added he will meet with the team owners and managers next week to discuss the new date for the league’s keenly-awaited return to play.

The PVL will have a total of 12 teams, bannered by early title frontrunners Creamline and F2 Logistics, for its inaugural pro season.

Bolstering what promises to be the most competitive conference yet are Bali Pure, Chery Tiggo, Choco Mucho, Cignal, Petro Gazz, PLDT Fibr, Unlimited Athletes Club and Army.
