MANILA, Philippines — Filipino boxing champion Jerwin Ancajas and Mexican challenger Jonathan Rodriguez officially made weight late Friday night (Manila time) ahead of their super flyweight title fight in Connecticut.

Ancajas (32-1-2, 22 KOs) tipped the scales at 114.8 pounds while Rodriguez (22-1, 16 KOs) came in at exactly 115 pounds.

The 29-year-old Ancajas is defending his IBF title for the ninth time.

The fight had already been pushed back twice. It was re-set from November 2019 to April 2020 but failed to push through due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ancajas hasn’t been in the ring since he stopped Miguel Gonzalez of Chile in the sixth round in December 2019.

The 25-year-old Rodriguez, meanwhile, is coming off a knockout victory over Julian Yedras last December.

Rodriguez, who has never fought outside of Mexico, is making his United States debut.
