Eumir Marcial says Thirdy Ravena reached out to help national boxers
MANILA, Philippines — Eumir Marcial revealed on his Instagram that Thirdy Ravena reached out to extend some help to the national boxers training for the Asian Championships and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
“Boss, kumusta? Sana okay ‘yung training camp mo ngayon. Nakita ko kasi ‘yung post mo sa social media, gusto ko lang sana itanong kung pwede makitulong kahit maliit na halaga lang sa mga pangangailangan niyo. Gusto ko kayo manalo ng team niyo,” read Ravena’s message to Marcial that the boxer posted on Instagram Sunday.

Marcial recently aired his grievances on social media on how his team lacked support from the government and that the P43,000 allowance barely covers the necessities in training.
The Philippines’ middleweight bet in Tokyo thanked Ravena for his gesture and hoped that other athletes follow the San-En NeoPhoenix’ guard’s ways.

“I hope that idol Thirdy Ravena will become an inspiration and will influence other Filipino athletes to help one another in different ways. I also wish that it can influence sports lovers and most especially our sports leaders.”
Marcial is one of four Filipino boxers competing in the Olympics this year along with Irish Magno, Nesthy Petecio, and Carlo Paalam.
