Japanese ousts Patrombon in 2nd round

Japense Kento Takeuchi outplayed Jeson Patrombon, 6-2, 6-1, Thursday in the second round of the Indonesia Futures 2 in Surabaya.

The 24-year-old Takeuchi proved too tough for the Filipino, who will again try his luck in the third leg of the $10,000 event in Jakarta next week.

Coach Manny Tecson said Patrombon can leapfrog from 1,521 to about 1,200 in the world ranking after gaining his second ATP point by reaching the second round of the Futures 2 event.
