MANILA, Philippines—Fil-American NBA guard Jordan Clarkson reached out to help restore a Filipino food truck in Utah that was vandalized with racial slurs.

In a tweet, Clarkson, whose mother is Filipino, also urged to Stop the Asian Hate as Anti-Asian phrases were spray-painted on the sides of the said food truck.

“It hurt me deeply to see that Salt Lake’s @yumyumasian food truck was recently vandalized,” posted Clarkson on Twitter. “I know the pain that hateful language and racism causes. With the help from @identitygraphx we’ll be able to restore the truck and hopefully lift Ben [Pierce] and his family’s spirit! #StopAsianHate.”

I stand in solidarity with Utah’s Filipino community – love is more powerful than hate! #utahfilipino #StopAAPIHate #stopasianhate,” Clarkson said in another tweet.

World Famous Yum Yum serves Asian fusion and Filipino dishes in the Northern Utah area.

Daniel Workman, who is a neighbor of the family that owns the truck, and his company Identity Graphx will install the new wrap on the vehicle.

Clarkson initially offered to pay for the installation of the new design but Workman declined the offer but told ABC 4’s that the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year will still give support to the Yum Yum owners.

Yum Yum owner Ben Pierce, as per the report, said that he’s been in contact with Clarkson’s agent who repeatedly asked the business owner what they need.

“They’re just giving us too much,” said Pierce. “It’s already a lot of help. He’s too giving.”

Layton Police is issuing a $500 reward for any information leading to an arrest of the perpetrators.

Clarkson and the Jazz are in the middle of a playoff run, leading 1-0 in the second round of the Western Conference series against the Los Angeles Clippers.
