MANILA, Philippines — Gilas Pilipinas’ perfect campaign in the Fiba Asia Cup qualifiers highlight the latest edition of Newsmakers.
The Philippine team went 6-0 in the qualifiers highlighted by impressive wins over South Korea.
The NBA conference finals are also set after the fifth-seeded Atlanta Haws toppling the No.1 Philadelphia 76ers with and the Los Angeles Clippers coming back from 25 down to knock off the top-seeded Utah Jazz.
WBC bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire and shooter Jayson Valdez, the 12th Filipino to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics also made the list.
