PBA: SMB bounces back, routs NLEX

MANILA, Philippines—San Miguel notched its first win of the season after dominating NLEX, 110-93, in the PBA Philippines Cup Friday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

The Beermen, who lost their opener to Meralco 93-87, improved to 1-1 while the Road Warriors slipped to 1-2.

After taking a 32-22 buffer at the end of the first quarter, San Miguel carried that momentum as it never relinquished the lead throughout the game.

June Mar Fajardo, who made his first start, converted on a three-point play to give the Beermen a 23-point lead, 61-38, with 1:50 left in the first half.

CJ Perez finished with a game-high 21 points with five rebounds to lead the Beermen while Alex Cabagnot added 17 points and five boards.

Fajardo finished with a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double while Moala Tautuaa nearly had his own with 16 points and nine boards.

Kevin Alas led the Road Warriors with 20 points, six rebounds, and six assists.
