PVL: Choco Mucho denies Perlas in straight sets
MANILA, Philippines—Choco Mucho spoiled Perlas’ season debut with a sweep, 25-23, 25-20, 25-20, in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference Sunday at PCV Socio-Civic Cultural Center in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte.
No player from the Flying Titans scored in double digits, but they enjoyed 31 free points from the Perlas Spikers due to errors.
Article continues after this advertisementPonggay Gaston and Kat Tolentino each had nine points to lead Choco Mucho which actually lagged behind the Perlas Spikers in terms of kills, 39-32.
Flying Titans head coach Oliver Almadro said his team lacked the energy against Perlas and he’s aware that his team, despite being undefeated, still needs some improvement.
“We didn’t have the energy and you know games right now are played every day,” said Almadro. “We have to improve on so many things.”

Cherry Nunag finished with 11 points for Perlas while veteran Sue Roces and Heather Guino-o had eight points apiece.
The Flying Titans moved to second spot with a 3-0 record, half a game behind leader Creamline, while the Perlas Spikers start their campaign at 0-1.
