MANILA, Philippines—Manny Pacquiao had a schedule with an ophthalmologist on Monday (Tuesday in Manila) to have his right eye check, as per his lawyer and close aide Tom Falgui.

Pacquiao, whose left eye required five stitches, also had visible bruises and swelling on his face following a 12-round battle with Yordenis Ugas.

In an Instagram post by his wife Jinkee on Tuesday, Pacquiao was being spoon-fed while both of his eyes were shut.

The 42-year-old Pacquiao dropped a convincing unanimous decision loss to Ugas, who reclaimed the WBA (Super) welterweight champion.

It was Pacquiao’s first fight in 25 months or since he beat Keith Thurman back in July 2019 to win the WBA (Super) crown.

His return, however, could also be his farewell as he hinted at retirement after the upset.

Pacquiao is also mulling on whether to run for the Philippine presidency—a decision he is set to make next month.
