Donaire says no word from Casimero camp on possible bout despite call out
MANILA, Philippines—Nonito Donaire isn’t taking John Riel Casimero’s baits on social media, saying that the latter’s camp has yet to even contact them for a potential unification bout.
Casimero, the WBO bantamweight champion, has repeatedly prodded Donaire for a match but the WBC titleholder said there was no official communication from MP Promotions President Sean Gibbons and their party.

The two bantamweight champions were scheduled to fight in August but it was scrapped after Donaire canceled the match after Casimero’s demeaning comments toward wife Rachel.
Donaire was also frustrated with Casimero’s delays in turning in drug testing paperwork with the Voluntary Anti-Drug Doping Association.

Donaire said he and his camp would look at other options instead of engaging Casimero in a social media spat.
“We are currently weighing all real options and will not entertain social media wars when it is apparent it was just talk,” wrote Donaire.
