PBA: Shorthanded Terrafirma shocks San Miguel for first win
MANILA, Philippines—Terrafirma stunned San Miguel Beer, 110-104, in overtime for its first win in the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup Wednesday at DHVSU Gym in Bacolor, Pampanga.
The Dyip fought back from 15 points down with less than nine minutes to go in regulation, outscoring the Beermen 39-18, inside the last 14 minutes of the game.
Article continues after this advertisementPlaying minus key cogs in Joshua Munzon and Roosevelt Adams, veteran guard Juami Tiongson stepped up with a career-high 28 points on top of three rebounds, seven assists and three steals.
Tiongson scored 15 points in the fourth quarter and overtime including a timely 3-pointer that gave Terrafirma a 104-100 cushion with 2:13 left.

He also hit the game-tying jumper, 95-all, with 44 seconds remaining that turned out to be the final points in regulation.
The Dyip, who improved to 1-4, also got a huge lift from their big men in Eric Camson and Joseph Gabayni. Camson collected 13 points and 10 rebounds while Gabayni also notched a double-double with 11 points and 15 boards.
Terrence Romeo scored 28 points in his first game back after missing San Miguel’s last three games due to an injury.
June Mar Fajardo added 18 points and 12 rebounds while Arwind Santos notched 19 points and nine rebounds for the Beermen, whose three-game winning streak was snapped.
San Miguel’s CJ Perez had just 10 points in his first game against his former team that selected him as the top pick in the 2018 draft before shipping him to the Beermen in a controversial deal last February.
