MANILA, Philippines—Chris Ross became just the sixth player in PBA history to surpass 900 career steals after he upped his total to 901 in San Miguel’s 83-67 win over TNT in the 2021 Philippine Cup Wednesday at DHVSU Gym in Bacolor, Pampanga.
The eight-time champion finished with six steals in the game and he reached the 900-mark when he swiped the ball from Mikey Williams midway through the second quarter.
Ross then reached his career total when he stole the ball from Poy Erram with 5:06 left in the first half.
The 36-year-old guard, who is averaging 2.7 steals per game this conference, is just a steal away from tying Dindo Pumaren in fifth in the all-time steals list.
Barangay Ginebra forward Japeth Aguilar also climbed the all-time blocks ladder when he moved to 11th place, surpassing Billy Robinson.
Aguilar had two blocks in Ginebra’s 83-77 win over Rain or Shine to up his total to 628.
