MANILA, Philippines—Lito Adiwang secured a unanimous decision win over Hexi Getu in their strawweight match in ONE:Revolution Friday at Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Team Lakay’s stalwart tallied his second straight win and 10th in 11 matches to make a case to break into the top five of the strawweight division.
Adiwang, the more well-rounded striker of the two, used the distance between him and Getu to avoid the Chinese fighter’s takedowns.
With Getu struggling to close the distance, Adiwang had no problem landing his body kicks throughout the match.
Adiwang (13-3) also rocked Getu with two well-placed flying knees in the first round.
Getu (9-4) was also given two yellow cards after hitting Adiwang three times in the groin which would dock his purse by 20 percent. His three-fight winning streak was snapped.
Adiwang last fought inside the ONE Circle on January 22, 2021 when he beat Japan’s Namiki Kawahara via second round knockout and was supposed to take on Jared Brooks in April but that match was cancelled after he tested positive for COVID-19.
In the night’s first fight, Filipino Muay Thai specialist Roel Rosauro lost to debuting James Yang via technical knockout.
Yang, a training partner of Demetrious Johnson, dominated the match with his wrestling and had dominant position the whole fight.
Rosauro then found himself on the receiving end of Yang’s continuous ground-and-pound forcing referee Justin Brown to stop the match two minutes into the second.
